I am a middle school art teacher and would love and appreciate advice on how to assist a student with his sensory stuff, for lack of a better word..ie we have painted stools- he sits and picks at the paint. I gave him an unpainted stool and he won't sit on it because it is different. The tables make noise, and he gets "struck" moving the table to make the noise. I am wanting to make our room a safe space for him to be expressive, but sensory, at least that's what I think is happening, are not being addressed. What can I do?
