Can anyone share thoughts on this? My son was evaluated and the counselor determined that he is not autistic. He had an IQ test when he was six years old (he's now 19). The results came back as Gifted. I explained this history as part of his recent evaluation. The counselor said that often autism and giftedness behaviors can overlap, so considering everything from the evaluation, she determined that his behavior is due to being gifted, not being autistic. Additionally, it was recommended that he needs executive functioning training/therapy. Does this sound legitimate? Thank you.
