Just joined and am excited for the advice and fellowship. My son was diagnosed while in Enterhealth, a substance abuse facility north of DFW. I am a retired Air Force MSgt (78-99) and the Air Force medical community knew something was "Wrong" and sent us to multiple hospitals around the country seeking a diagnosis. They tried to pigeon hole him in various syndromes, never once mentioning the autism spectrum. He developed alcoholism and we sent him to Enterhealth. Coincidentally, the TV show "Parenthood" had recently premiered and their was a character who displayed all the classic Aspie behaviors. We shared our observations with their staff and they recommended a complete nueropsych evaluation. The results were informative and devastating. Now we're almost 10 years post diagnosis and still looking for answers.
