Question about food My 13 yo w level 1 ASD and adhd struggles making food decisions literally every day We ask her to pick her favorite foods and let her choose what she wants at the grocery stores and restaurants/ take out but without fail she will say there’s nothing to eat and end up in tears I tell her she can choose anything to door dash and she comes up with nothing She has a whole cabinet of her preferred foods which is mostly snacks/ junk but will then say she’s eaten too much of those or has had them too recently and she’s sick of it but offers no alternatives! I have driven all over town with her trying to find anything that looked appealing Obviously this is not sustainable She also has PDA- we have tried “strewing” different food with minimal improvement She has done feeding therapy and hated it; (probably related to her PDA)she did well enough to get discharged and then reverted back to baseline. She is normal weight probably because she falls back on sugary drinks and candy when she won’t eat / can’t figure out real food to eat Suggestions?
