My 21yo son's world is getting smaller and smaller because of his sound sensitivities. We only go inside one restaurant, and only because they turn the music off for him. But yesterday (we go there 4x/week) there was a child in there and his anticipation that the child would be loud made him too upset and anxious to try to go inside. Despite wearing both ear plugs and ear phones he's less and less tolerant of noise. Even cars going by bother him now. And when neighbors have gardeners or construction it's a nightmare. He used to rarely wear the ear plugs, then added ear phones, and now wears both much of the time. He doesn't want it to be this way, but is also afraid to try anthing that could help because it would take him out of his comfort zone. Any success stories? This is pretty awful...
