I'm supporting a 10 year old who is autistic and extremely preoccupied with a particular computer game. His parents have successfully created two screen-free days but when he isn't playing, he talks constantly about it. He's always thinking about who else would be playing when he isn't, what additions he could buy, Even when his family go for a walk or speak on the phone with his grand-parents he's talking about it. Not playing the game doesn't seem to diminish his mental engagement in the topic. His mum sees it as a "quest to fuel his dopamine level". Does anyone have any suggestions about how to manage this situation?
