Hi All, We need to work on keeping in touch through social media. Sorry that we haven't responded or been active. Here is our story with some extra details: Our son is 25 and was diagnosed at a young age with autism spectrum disorder/Asperger's. He is high functioning and almost completed college, but he had some difficulties with the final classes. We have been trying to manage his condition and help him make progress, and for many years while he has had some issues, he's developed more severe problems since COVID started. As a couple, we sometimes feel great fear about his safety as well as our own. Here is a breakdown of Tyler's issues as of today: - Increased obsessive compulsive behaviour - Terrible irritability and anger - Dark thoughts - Lack of confidence and motivation - Increased disjointed thoughts Regulating his medicine has been impossible. We don't know what works and what doesn't. We have had other issues come up because of medication as well, including occasional weight gain, slurred speech, and trembling hands. We are not sure what to do next. We are looking for information on programs in our area which is Connecticut, Western Massachusetts, and Eastern New York state. We haven't found anything unfortunately. He has grown to hate therapy and will probably not go unless there are some other aspects of it that would draw him in. We also don't know if there are programs, residential or otherwise, that could help him get on his feet. We have had bad luck so far in finding these kind of places ourselves. Thank you!
