Why I don't like support groups? The thing is most people assume everyone with asd is unique but just like normal people we can be similar too. At the support group everyone needs routine and are great at maths and I am complete opposite. I hate making a fix schedule and following it (since interruptions happen all the time) and I find abstract thinking thus maths difficult. I don't understand how others on the spectrum are math savants but can't read social cues I can't do both well. Having asd doesn't mean I can't do it but let's say I'm a hot air balloon I simply have more resistance thus sand bags than others when trying to fly. Either way my innovative creative vision doesn't get supported there either so it's pointless. I'd rather find people who accept me the way I am doesn't matter if they are autistic or not.
