Sending an SOS message to the AE community. Has anyone dealt with gastroparesis? Our 20 yr old son has had GI problems since April. He has had multiple blood tests, fecal tests, endoscopy, CT with contrast and all have been normal. Found a great GI doctor who suspected gastroparesis and ordered a gastric emptying test - which showed very low/slow motility. He’s lost nearly 40 lbs without trying in 8 months and struggles with severe nausea - multiple medicines tried - reglan is working best. We know that GI is powered by vagus nerve and he has worked on vagal tone. Has anyone else’s child encountered unexplained gastroparesis? He is in a lot of pain, hasn’t eaten solid food since Monday, been in ER for vomiting/dehydration already this week. He is feeling incredibly hopeless. We are sending desperate messages to his doctors and don’t know what to do. If anyone has experienced this and has suggestions for questions or tests or symptom relief we would be grateful to hear about it. Thanks.
