Hello, I am excited to join this community. I am the parent of an 18-yo daughter with a late diagnosis of ASD. She has suffered a lot from anxiety and depression as a result of feeling misunderstood and overwhelmed. While she is able to mask quite successfully in small doses, she often retreats out of exhaustion. She has trouble maintaining friendships and feels very lonely. I have seen a lot on this website that feels familiar and recognize a lot of what I've tried hasn't worked and in truth probably has caused harm. I am hoping that I can convince my daughter to engage with this organization. Anyone, especially folks on the spectrum who felt like their parents had a lot of "good ideas", have advice? I've tried so many things that I fear if I try to push, my daughter will auto reject out of fatigue with my "good ideas". Thank you in advance.
