Hi All, I recently joined this community. My son, almost 11, was diagnosed with autism when he was 9. He also has many of the characteristics of Pathological Demand Avoidance. His biggest avoider: school. He has missed so much school, especially this year (59 days!!). Have any of you had a similar experience with your own kids? Did you find something that worked? We have had meeting after meeting after meeting about him this year and we get nowhere. I feel like his needs are not being met, and he has crippling anxiety about going to school (sometimes the meltdowns about going to school on Monday start on a Saturday afternoon). I would love to hear from any of you who have had similar experiences and have come out of this on the brighter side. Thanks!
