Hi I'm new to this group. I have a pre-verbal 3 yr old daughter with autism, diagnosed about 5 months ago. We always used to comment about how happy she was! She slept good, and had a great diet. We have always been concerned about her speech, but she was making small improvements through speech therapies. About 3 months ago, everything flipped. It was like turning on a light switch. All of a sudden, she was not sleeping, very very picky with eating, and started exhibiting self harmful behaviors of hitting her head on anything she could. These meltdowns seem to happen on the flip of a dime, and I cannot for the life of me figure out the pattern. I'm worried about her being exhausted, as she rarely sleeps more than 3 hrs at a time, and she barely eats anymore. I'm worried about her injuring herself as well. She really looses control. I'm an exhausted mama, who feels very very lost. Any words of wisdom would be a godsend.
