My 4 year old toddler is getting obsessed with TV. I get the sense he is learning from it, but it’s getting to the point where that’s all he prefers. It definitely calms him. Mostly educational programs. We use timers and deadlines. I need to have adventurous activities planned to keep him off it. When we can play, it’s usually Spider-Man ( his favorite TV show) and then he goes back to the TV. He will play by himself and use his imagination, but he really prefers the TV, and tablets when we goto the restaurant. I also put closed captioning on it. We always try to promote drawing, reading, coloring, running, riding his bike, but he just wants to watch tv. Any suggestions? I’m willing to try anything, and I mean anything. I know we all watch TV and go on our phones and screens, but I’m mindful of the fact that too much screen time or TV has to have unintended consequences on a young brain, no? Any advice would be appreciated. What a great community!
