My daughter who has autism recently got a job. It’s so hard to get a job for a neurotypical kid that I had to push her. She got a job at a new local pet store. We thought things were fine, they didn’t schedule her and have not texted her back. She’s 18, she also has a hearing impairment. She didn’t disclose because she’s afraid they wouldn’t hire her. At the very least am I wrong to make them give her an explanation, or see if there was a miscommunication? With all the inclusivity going on in the world, and such a high number of people with autism, I don’t understand why it feels like they are set aside. Advice?
