My 13 year old has been home since January and doing home instruction through the school district for the last 6 weeks or so. He is getting through math, science, and social studies successfully, but English and Spanish are causing shutdowns. I know talking about himself is a trigger so the teachers know to avoid that line of questioning. Spanish teacher was also talking about a big in person test that was another trigger. English (in person) today was just reading a paragraph and we got nowhere. Spanish (on Zoom) is causing him to curl up in the fetal position under the coffee table. I'm reading the books and taking the courses, but I could use some insight or suggestions. It feels like we're bending over backwards to accommodate him, but still hitting roadblocks.
