Hello, We are in the process of trying to get SSI for twenty-year-old son with Asperger’s. Does anyone have a concise or well-put-together collection or information showing that defense mode makes it impossible to hold down a job? It’s taken me years to understand this and it is hard to make a judge understand that it’s not that a person with Asperger’s can’t do tasks, A,B or C. But doing them on a consistent, reliable basis, while constantly being in defense mode which puts everything but surviving below the line of priority capacity, is impossible. Anybody know anything about presenting this information in a disability case and having success? And how do you present it? Send the info to your attorney or to the judge or??? Thanks for any info.
