Hello. I'm curious about experiences with wilderness therapy for ASD. My 16 yr old son was diagnosed 4 months ago, which adds some light to years of anxiety, depression and meltdowns. The recommendation is that WT is the most "bang for the buck", given his age and range issues. The therapist is ASD specialised and the group includes ASD teens. But we're wondering how much should sensory (a winter stay!) and the trauma of going at all (vs. OT at home) factor into our decision to pursue this vs. another therapy -- and what would that be. We want to avoid a hospital setting. TY
